Actually I have no idea why I can’t read. What I do know is that I get those codes on blogs and groups–the ones that prove you’re human–wrong about half the time. Which would make me half human.

Wyatt asked me that 27 times on the way home from dinner tonight, and that’s just after I started COUNTING. And he’s still not two. We are really in for it. It is sleeting something awful, with a little rain thrown in. The driveway is a sheet of ice. I am so glad I don’t have to go outside barefoot to pee. I just let the dog out, did you guess? This is what I’ve done today: 5:00 Get up to let dog out 5:05 Get Wyatt. 5-7: Sort of sleep, sort of not, while everyone mills in and out of bed. No, not the fact that I am posting actual text blog entries twice in one day. Rob is out of town. This is night two of my three day solo. I had no babysitting today–which is to say, I had five hours of babysitting in order to allow me to ski with Lily and then sit with her in the ski lodge and wait for Sam. Lily had a ski lesson today, and while she was on the mountain with her instructor she ran into a friend. Apparently (according to the instructor) she had been beautifully following along until she saw…J. Who was going fast. And making no turns. And generally having a lovely time. This weekend’s highlight: a visit from one of my oldest school friends and her family (featuring “Boston Joey”, so-called to distinguish him from one of their best friends and sometimes even directly addressed as such). I am not buying anything in January and February except books, food and toilet paper (which really represents the entire category of non-food essentials from toothpaste on but is limited to disposable items one actually does run out of and need.
