  1.  The whole idea. Boring 90s Southern surburb-y moms go Buffy? I’m in.
  2. But it’s not campy. Or a comedy. Sure, there’s fun in it—but this is a serious story with serious topics, sexism, racism, friendship, selling out—AND vampires.
  3. The grab you by the throat and don’t let you go STORY. Man does everything go wrong for the people in this book in unpredictable ways. Grady Hendrix does NOT pull punches.
  4. The pace. This book covers a period of years and it zooms by.
  5. The ending. SO SATISFYING. Landing, stuck.
