All right, I might, repeat might be in labor. Don’t t all excited now, and (mom) don’t call me. These things happen, or, sometimes, they don’t. If we have a baby later I’ll let you know. When we have a baby, I guess I should say, but I DON’T KNOW IF I believe that anymore.
Anyway, so the contractions are regularish, bearably painful, not really even close to go to the hospital level…and I’m bored. I do not think I can nap, I have already eaten some junk food and I dare you to name a book that would capture my interest at this point. Sam is at school. Lily is napping, and she has a sitter later, who we might really need. So it’s just me, and the possible contractions, which I am believing in less and less as I type. I could go for a walk, but it is cold-ish and snowing-ish. I did, at the demand of the phone company earlier, go outside, unscrew a little box on the side of the house and determine that, indeed, it seems to be their problem, not ours (as it always is). That was diverting, but brief.
If this is false alarm I will be grumpy with myself for not working or SOMETHING with this time. If not, well, I’m still bored. What do people DO at this point?
OK, now I think it’s all a big fake-out. I told you not to get excited. But, since I am assured that inevitably, it will happen (not that I believe that, because I don’t), what should I do when I really get here?
I think people go to the hospital early because they don’t know what to do with themselves. Maybe I could go out to the rice paddy and pick some rice, or prepare dinner for the farmhands or something.

I was TOTALLY sure I wasn’t in labor at 8 am and I went to the hospital because my doctor didn’t want me to have the baby at my house. I checked in at 11 am and I was still sure I was WAY too early and that I was going to be stuck there forever…. I had a baby just 3 hours later. I was kind of shocked. I hope it’s real…
If Lily wakes up, get her to nurse… that will help you determine whether it is labor or not.

I’m happy to report that KJ was indeed in labor when she made this post, and that has had her 3rd baby.
I spoke to her tonight and she said I should share this with you. She will be home from the hospital tomorrow and will share the rest of the happy details as soon as she can.
Mom is recovering nicely and baby is doing well. Yay!
