The Chinese Hospital Diet Plan

We are all here and, except for Rob, still together. Until someone
else gets sick.
At this point nothing would surprise me. I have the feeling that
anything could happen. And I can’t even guess what will.

Oh KJ!!! I am so so so sorry. I have never met you but I am just devastated for you. Many of us at RQ are thinking of you and hope you get through this.

p.s. let us know if there is ANYTHING we can do for you, even from afar.

  3. JK says:

Yikes. How is Rob doing? Where is he? How’s your Mom doing? And your Dad from afar? Is there anything we can do other than the thinking good thoughts thing?

  4. Misty says:

Any idea how long this is going to last and if you are going to be able to get Rory any time soon???

  5. Jolene says:

KJ, I’m so sorry you are going through all of this! I am praying for all of you. For quick recovery for your husband and protection from further illness for the rest of you! We leave on Wed and should be in province on Sat night as long as we stay on course. I hope you make to province by then if not sooner!

  9. Ari says:

I linked over from a friends blog. I will be praying for your family. Good luck.

oh “Lola”, I’m so sorry. I know you are second guessing yourself about bringing your kids but I don’t think you should be. You are all together and if your kids are anything like mine, being all together is 100000 times better than being apart.

Hang in there!!!! and if there is anything we can bring to the hospital, let us know……..we leave for Beijing on Tuesday.

    Lola

You are in my thoughts and prayers. Hoping this stay is brief and goes by quickly so your little one is in your arms soon!

KJ and family, I am so sorry that this is happening. You are in our thoughts. You are a strong woman and I am sure you are pulling out all the stops to get through this. Know that we are sending you our thoughts.

I wanted to second what another poster said. If there is anything we can do stateside to bring some pressure to bear on helping your situation–call your Senator, etc.–please put out the word. We can hear the despair in your post–continue trying to be strong. We know you can do it.

OMG, you guys must be terrified — I know I would be! Is the embassy able to help you out at all now that you’re in the hospital? Has anybody told you how long you’ll be there? Is it possible, since they tested negative, for the kids to be able to go back to the U.S. with some sort of escort arranged by the embassy? My heart goes out to you, hang in there!

  15. Kathleen says:

KJ – it is Kath. What can we do? I am freaking out for you. I know all will be well, but want to make sure that if there is anything we can do (have heard from Julia) you please tell us – we can make calls, anything. We can coordinate with your dad, etc. Just email on my regular email or here – whatever. I am so sorry you are going through this. I am really glad your mom is there. That has to be some comfort. Keep blogging. K

  16. I am following your situation closely because we are supposed to travel in a few weeks to get our daughter and we were planning on taking our 4 year old and 6 year old with us. Now I am not so sure. I am so sorry this is happening to you. You should seriously write a book about this experience. Hang in there. We will pray the meds work quickly and you can get the heck out of there.

  17. Kelli says:

I am following you on your journey and I feel so in awe about what is happening to you and your family. I am thinking about you constantly and hoping that you are together and getting through this. I completely understand why you took you children, this is a family journey and you should be together, if that is what makes you feel strong. You are the Mother and Father and you know what is right in your hearts. I think you guys are amazing.

  18. Shelley says:

Praying that you and your children remain healthy and that your husband recovers quickly. I am so sorry this has happened. Know that many are thinking of you and praying.
